Bought a Merc C Class from this car centre last 1 1/2 months. The person in charge-Mr Charles was friendly guy. Left us to inspect the car by ourselves without interruption. Car was in good condition, except for minor scratches here and there and a disfunction cig lit where they helped to fix it for us before handing over the car. It was also sent for servicing and MOT renewed. In other words, they handed the car to us in perfectly good condition, coupled with 3 months warranty, part and labour. It gave peace to our mind and I\'m happy that the car works fine. (cross finger!).... |

We spent just over £4k to buy a car from this place. Problems started on the first day as the electronic mirrors didn’t work. Took the car back to them, and they replaced a blown fuse. During first couple of days another problem occurred on a number of occasions – semi-automatic gearbox got stuck in gear 2. Took the car back, they sent it to a garage for repairing and apparently some part was replaced. After 4 days got the car back, didn’t have to drive for long when the problem occurred again. Another trip to the dealer, this time they had the car for over a week, supposedly had another part replaced, test drove the car themselves and assured us that it had been fixed. It took us only a few hours to realise it wasn’t. On the third attempt the car was supposed to be ready on a Friday in 2 weeks time. Went to pick the car up the day after this. It wasn’t there. The guy said he’d sort it out on Monday. Hadn’t heard anything back from them by the following Friday so we emailed them a written complaint. Went to see them the following day, this time the car was there but they had failed to tell us that it was ready. Gave them some valid customer feedback, told we were not happy with their service and did not anymore trust them, the car or the garage they had used. The guy regressed into the level of a 3-year-old and started shouting at us ordering to take our car and leave their premises for not trusting them. Here we have a used car salesman shouting abuse at a female who has just bought her first ever car from them. Goes to show why used car dealers have such a bad rep – but even the most dishonest used car salesman would find this “man” from Charvil to be a disgrace to the profession. Needless to say no apology received to date.
The lesson is that if you are happy to give away a couple of grand of your hard-earned money in exchange for a dodgy car and verbal abuse from the dealer, then this is your place. Otherwise, avoid them like a plague.
